Karen Ardley Associates are delighted to offer this blended learning programme Leading Assessment for Learning’ as part of the KAA Blended Learning Calendar for 2021.

There is a wealth of evidence to say the Assessment for Learning can have a significant impact on learning.

How do you know as a leader, that your students are reaping these benefits?

Recognising that Assessment for Learning is complex, this course supports leaders to frame a strategy for development which deepens teacher’s understanding of Assessment for Learning underpinned by an evaluative leadership approach to know the impact on teaching, learners and learning.

You will have the opportunity to create a compelling, evidence-based narrative of the intent, implementation and impact of Assessment for Learning in your school.

There are 4 sections in this course:

• Your approach to leading Assessment for Learning
• Intent and impact – linking vision to the difference to learners
• Intent and implementation – putting the vision into practice
• Impact, implementation and intent – connecting the evidence of success of the vision and next steps

Additional Information

This course will run for three hours over two sessions, plus additional online self-study:

Session 1: 13th May 2021, 8am – 9.30am BST (GMT +1)
Session 2: 17th June 2021 8am-10am BST (GMT+1)

Target Audience

This programme is suitable for middle and senior leaders who are responsible for Assessment for Learning.

Delivery and Format

This programmes will use a blended approach of facilitated online discussion and online self-study using the KAA Online Learning Platform.

  • Facilitated group session – 13th May 2021 8am – 9.30am BST (GMT +1)
  • Self- study online module which include film, audio and presentations
  • In school reflections, activities to support discussions and implementation
  • Facilitated group session to review progress and prepare for the next steps – 17th June 2021 8am-10am BST (GMT+1)

The facilitated sessions will be delivered using Zoom and the online self-study modules will be accessed via KAA Online Learning Platform.

Jayne Bennion

Jayne is an educator with experience and expertise as a teacher, school leader and senior adviser with schools in the UK and internationally. She has designed and facilitated a range of exceptional professional learning both online and in person and has a proven track record in making a positive and sustainable difference.

Jayne has successfully undertaken several high level roles including the Director of Quality Assurance with Nord Anglia Education, Founding Head of the Learning and Assessment Service in Birmingham and Curriculum Adviser with QCDA leading the development of the professional learning materials for the proposed primary national curriculum.

Her latest achievements include being commissioned to develop approaches to blended learning with Nord Anglia Education, writing and facilitating Initial Teacher Training materials in the UK with Star Academies and internationally with the Curriculum Foundation.
