The most successful schools have an accurate, evidence-based view of what is working well with curriculum and pedagogy.
They use their vision for curriculum to determine why how and when they evaluate the quality of their curriculum models.
They know what is working well, and why. They know what needs work and what needs to be stopped and replaced.
This module will introduce leaders to the process of evaluating their curriculum design and pedagogical approach, starting with the vision and principles that drive the curriculum and using them to identify indicators of the difference being made.

Additional Information
This course involves the following: 3 hours facilitated over two group sessions, a one to one session, additional online self-study plus in school research and activity time.
Session 1: Wednesday 21st October 2021, 8.00am – 9.00am BST (GMT +1)
Session 2: Wednesday 25th November, 8.00am – 10.00am GMT
Target Audience
This programme is suitable for senior leaders who have responsibility for evaluating their school or phase curriculum.
We recommend at least 2 leaders from each school participate / collaborate within the school.
Delivery and Format
This programmes will use a blended approach of facilitated online discussion, online self-study using the KAA Online Learning Platform and in school research and activity time.
- Facilitated introductory group session 21st October 2021, 8.00am – 9.00am BST (GMT +1)
- Self- study online module which include film, audio and presentations (5-6 hours over 3 – 4 weeks)
- Small group or 1:1 session with KAA facilitator to discuss progress and ask questions
- Action research/undertake activities and discussions in school (between 8-10 hours over 4-6 weeks)
- Facilitated group session – sharing learning to date with other participants. Discuss challenges and ideas – 25th November, 8.00am – 10.00am GMT
Please note: We recommend at least 2 leaders from each school participate / collaborate within the school.
The facilitated sessions will be delivered using Zoom and the online self-study modules will be accessed via KAA Online Learning Platform.

Jayne Bennion
Jayne is an educator with experience and expertise as a teacher, school leader and senior adviser with schools in the UK and internationally. She has designed and facilitated a range of exceptional professional learning both online and in person and has a proven track record in making a positive and sustainable difference.
Jayne has successfully undertaken several high level roles including the Director of Quality Assurance with Nord Anglia Education, Founding Head of the Learning and Assessment Service in Birmingham and Curriculum Adviser with QCDA leading the development of the professional learning materials for the proposed primary national curriculum.
Her latest achievements include being commissioned to develop approaches to blended learning with Nord Anglia Education, writing and facilitating Initial Teacher Training materials in the UK with Star Academies and internationally with the Curriculum Foundation.
