Event Details

Karen Ardley Associates are delighted to now be able to offer this popular programme face to face this spring.

This 3 day cover supervisor programme offers essential skills and techniques backed up with cutting edge theory that will enable the cover supervisor to do their job with enthusiasm and confidence.

All participants will receive real strategies and resources that they will be able to use to inform and evolve their practice immediately.

The programme will be run at Sandy Lane Primary School in Bradford on the following days:

Day 1: Monday 24th January
Day 2: Tuesday 25th January
Day 3: Monday 31st January

Target Audience

Cover supervisors in EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Programme Objectives

  • To explore and clarify the role of Cover Supervisor
  • To identify key strategies for the positive management of behaviour
  • To provide proven and practical ideas and techniques for engagement

Key Areas Covered

  • making the role credible – building a team;
  • understanding and coping with challenging behaviour;
  • getting it covered: The learning classroom;
  • creativity with confidence and control;
  • engagement strategies;
  • building an armoury of quality teaching skills; and
  • next steps for cover supervisors.

Programme Presenter: Jane Walton

Jane Walton is a successful, qualified and experienced Adult Educator whose previous roles include working as a Childcare lecturer and Curriculum Manager delivering qualifications for Teaching Assistants.
Her recent work has included identifying the impact of staff working in schools to support learning. Her specialist skills, knowledge and experience are focused on the development of staff within the National Occupational Standards.
Jane is committed to encouraging, developing and enabling professionalism and accountability across the whole school workforce. She is passionate about the promotion of a culture of life- long learning for all adults working with children and young people.
