Supporting EAL Learners
This module is designed to enable you to be better in tune with your EAL learners so that you can facilitate both their learning and sense of belonging in your classroom to ensure that they reach their potential.
It will also give you confidence to audit the provision your school currently provides and lead a whole school change in approach should you deem that necessary.
The objectives of this module on supporting EAL learners:
- To enable educators to assess prior language knowledge and understanding in order to plan appropriate, differentiated activities for all learners.
- To explore classroom techniques and strategies to facilitate learning for all pupils new to English and using English as an additional language.
- To increase educators’ confidence and expertise in planning and delivering age appropriate and engaging learning activities for pupils using EAL.
