Parental engagement in schools can be seen to be parents and school staff working together to support and improve the learning, development and health of children and young people. It is a shared responsibility in which schools are committed to reaching out to engage parents in meaningful ways, and parents are committed to actively support the learning and development of the young people in their care.
This module contains exemplars and ideas from the educational world in the UK and across the globe. We do expect you’ll be able to draw some similarities with what you already do and take the ideas within to further develop your own expertise.
The exemplars given within the module may be referenced to the primary sector or the secondary or post-16 sectors.
