In our experience, many schools have great assessment systems that generate robust data sets. The challenge is more often about getting the analysis to the right person, who asks the right questions to improve the experiences of students.
This module has been designed to help you to consider the key questions that need to be asked of the data and to highlight the ‘why’, ‘what’ and ‘so what’ of each person’s role in using the data you have.
The module has two ‘core sections – to consider how data fits into effective evaluation processes and the context of your school.
The second section is a toolkit – a pick and mix if you will! Where you go first is up to you, and dependent on what is of particular interest to you. The 9 tiles are organized by role – starting with system leaders, moving through senior and middle leaders, data managers and teachers and of course the students and their parents and carers.
