Evaluating Online and Blended Provision

Course Access: Lifetime
Course Overview

For many, the landscape of the classroom has
changed.  Schools very quickly adapted
their approach to provide virtual learning for their students or a blend of
virtual and in person teaching … depending on circumstances!

The challenge now is to evaluate the quality of the virtual
or blended provision, and it’s impact on learning.

Evaluation lies at the heart of effective improvement;
knowing what is working well and what needs to be developed enables successes
to be celebrated and support provided to take the next step.

This module focusses on the principles and processes of effective
evaluation.  It begins with research that
has informed effective approaches to whole school evaluation and
focussed on the principles that ensure processes are purposeful,
manageable, and formative.

We then explore the processes of the evaluation cycle which
include a clarity of expectation or intent, types of high-quality
evidence
, evaluating and connecting evidence to ensure robust
decision-making processes
for next steps.

The module is suitable for middle and senior leaders who are
responsible and accountable for evaluating the quality of online and in person
provision.
